Bylaws of Diamond & Abrasives Engineering Editorial Board 

Chapter I: General Provisions

Article 1
To enhance the journal’s academic influence and elevate its scholarly standards, an Editorial Board is established in accordance with the Regulations on Periodical Publication Administration issued by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television. These Bylaws are hereby formulated.

Article 2
The Editorial Board serves as the academic governing body of Diamond & Abrasives Engineering, composed of domestic and international experts in relevant disciplines and fields.

Article 3
Members shall perform their duties in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and these Bylaws.

Chapter II: Composition

Article 4
The Editorial Board consists of a Chair, Vice-Chair(s), and Members. The number of members shall be determined based on operational needs.

Article 5
The Chair and Vice-Chair(s) shall be appointed by the journal’s sponsoring institution upon invitation by the Editorial Office.

Article 6
Qualifications for Editorial Board Members:
(1) Compliance with laws, rigorous scholarship, impartiality, and integrity;
(2) Possession of a senior professional title or higher;
(3) Broad academic vision, strong scholarly insight, and extensive disciplinary influence;
(4) Alignment between the member’s research focus and the journal’s scope;
(5) Commitment to the journal’s development and enthusiastic support for academic exchange platforms.

Article 7
As an industry-collaborative academic platform, the journal welcomes qualified researchers to apply for membership. Applicants shall submit an Editorial Board Member Application Form to the Editorial Office. The Office will verify qualifications and submit applications to the Chair and Vice-Chair(s) for deliberation. Successful candidates shall be formally appointed by the sponsoring institution.

Article 8
Members serve term-based appointments, with each term lasting four years.

Article 9
A member may resign voluntarily upon approval by the Chair and Vice-Chair(s) following deliberation.

Chapter III: Rights and Obligations

Article 10
Editorial Board Members enjoy the following rights:
(1) To critique and advise on journal operations and Editorial Office staff, with timely responses;
(2) To recommend other scholars for Editorial Board membership;
(3) To receive one complimentary copy of each issue of Diamond & Abrasives Engineering;
(4) Priority publication for manuscripts authored or recommended by members (under equal conditions);
(5) Free promotion of their team’s academic publications and achievements.

Article 11
Editorial Board Members shall fulfill the following obligations:
(1) Actively participate in Board affairs and implement journal policies and Board resolutions;
(2) Conduct thorough, timely peer reviews for assigned manuscripts, evaluating academic rigor, scientific validity, and practicality, while identifying issues and providing revision suggestions;
(3) Contribute or solicit high-quality manuscripts for the journal;
(4) Promote the journal to enhance its visibility;
(5) Advocate for outstanding articles published in the journal and facilitate application/dissemination of relevant research outcomes.

Chapter IV: Operational Procedures

Article 12
The Editorial Board shall convene at least one plenary meeting annually to assess the journal’s development status, plan long-term strategies, and set key tasks for the upcoming year.

Article 13
The Editorial Office shall regularly report to members on the journal’s progress and workflow completion.

Article 14
To recognize members who actively support the journal’s growth, the Publisher shall conduct an Outstanding Editorial Board Member Selection. Specific procedures are outlined in the Outstanding Editorial Board Member Selection Guidelines.

Chapter V: Supplementary Provisions

Article 15
The sponsoring institution retains the right to interpret these Bylaws.

Article 16
These Bylaws take effect upon promulgation. The Editorial Board Bylaws of Diamond & Abrasives Engineering Journal issued on June 20, 2015, are hereby repealed.
