Name:Han HUANGIntroduction:
Prof Huang is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at UQ. He joined UQ in 2005 as a Senior Lecturer and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2008 and Professor in 2011. Prof Huang received his PhD from The University of Western Australia in 1996. He has won a number of prestigious research accolades, including ARC Future Fellowship (2011-2015), ARC Australia Research Fellowship (2005-2010), JSPS Invitation Fellowship (2009), Queensland International Fellowship (2012) and Singapore National Technology Award (1999). He is the Associate Editor of International Journal of Mechanical Science and has editorial roles in several international journals, such as International Journal of Machine Tool and Manufacture. He was elected as a Fellow of International Society of Nanomanufacturing in 2012. He published over 290 refereed journal papers, 2 books and 4 book chapters.
Prof Huang has established a leading group working on nanomechanics and advanced manufacturing and founded a world-class laboratory at UQ that is dedicated to a fundamental understanding of material removal mechanisms and mechanical characterisation of nanomaterials and nanostructures. Professor Han Huang’s research interests are nanomanufacturing, machining technologies, mechanical characterization of nanostructured materials and nanostructures and nanoparticle-based lubrication.

Name:XingSheng LIIntroduction:
Dr Xing Li is Research Team Leader of the Excavating and Drilling team in CSIRO’s Mining & Processing Technologies Research Group. The role of this team is to develop excavating and drilling technologies that will help mining industry deal with the challenge of mechanical hard rock excavation. Xing received his PhD in Mechanical and Material Engineering from the Curtin University in 1994, and joined CSIRO in the same year. Xing’s research experience with the CSIRO spans over 20 years. He has played a key role in development of the SMART*CUT technology. Xing's research interests lie in the area of mechanical excavation, cutting tool design, tool wear mechanisms, cutting drum design, superhard materials for cutting tool application, characterization of advanced diamond composite, assessment of drill bit performance and development of hard rock cutting equipment and method.

Name:Jun WANGIntroduction:
Professor Jun Wang received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 1982 and a PhD in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Melbourne in 1993. He has been a member of the academic staff in the Ocean University of China (1982-1988), the University of Melbourne (1993-1995), Queensland University of Technology (1995-2005) and UNSW (Feb 2005-Dec 2020). He is now an Emeritus Professor of UNSW. He is a fellow and CPEng of the Institution of Engineers Australia and a fellow of the International Society of Nanomanufacturing, and has served as the Chairman of the International Committee for Abrasive Technology (2011-2015), President of the Ausinan Science and Technology Society (2013-2015) and a member of the Mechanical College Board of The Institution of Engineers Australia (2013-2020). He has also been actively engaged in the profession by serving as the Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor for 6 international journals and chairing/co-chairing 25 international conferences between 1999 and 2019.
To December 2020, Professor Wang has had over 500 publications, including more than 360 refereed journal articles, 27 edited books and conference proceedings, a single-authored monograph and four book chapters.

Name:Xun CHENIntroduction:
Professor Xun Chen is an international leading expert in advanced manufacturing technology. Currently he leads the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Research Laboratory in the General Engineering Research Institute, Liverpool John Moores University.
With broad research experience in mechanical manufacturing engineering, Professor Chen has established his expertise in advanced manufacturing technology including application of computing science, mechatronics and artificial intelligence to manufacturing process monitoring, control and optimisation, particularly to abrasive machining technology. Up to date he has published more than 200 research papers widely in top international journals and conferences in the field of Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering. His researches have been extensively supported by the research councils and industries.
Professor Chen has been a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College and a founding member of the International Committee of Abrasive Technology. He has been an associate editor and an editorial board member of many leading international journals.
